About
Made by a parent, for parents.
Hi, I'm Julian. I built Playtime because every morning with my kids felt like a tiny scramble: pour cereal, find shoes, where's the other shoe, the baby's awake, and somewhere in there I wanted to do one small fun thing with them. A maze. A connect-the-dots. A weird little story about their stuffed bunny.
The friction was real. By the time I'd searched, scrolled, picked something, and printed it, the moment was gone. So I built the thing that would just hand me one fresh idea every morning, tuned to the kid, ready to go.
Playtime is that. A nightly nudge. A printable. A ten-minute spark of joy. Sometimes longer. Sometimes a hit, sometimes a flop, but always one less decision in a tired week.
What we believe
- Time together > perfect activities. A goofy maze you do at the table beats a Pinterest-perfect craft you never make.
- Specific beats generic. Their name. Their interest of the week. Their stuffie's name in the story. Tiny details, big magic.
- Print, don't screen. Mornings are better with crayons than tablets.
- Low effort for the parent. If it's not five-minute easy on the parent's end, it doesn't ship.
Where it's going
Right now Playtime runs as a Claude Code plugin for parents who are comfortable in a terminal. Early days. We're slowly turning it into something anyone can use.
