How we use Amazon links

Playtime occasionally suggests supplies (markers, paint, a sensory bin, a great pair of kid scissors) when an activity calls for them. When we link to those items, we use Amazon affiliate search links. If you buy something through one of our links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

We use search URLs, not specific product links. That means you see a search results page (e.g. "kid safety scissors blunt tip") and you pick the actual product. We do this for two reasons:

• Specific product links rot. Search links don't.
• We don't pretend to know which specific brand is right for your kid. You're the parent. You choose.

We're a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

We never recommend something we wouldn't happily put in our own house. Affiliate links never influence which activity gets sent. The activity is picked first; the supply suggestion is a footnote, not a driver.
